Data Visualization Manager

We are looking for a seasoned data visualization professional for our Consumer & Retail vertical, which is one of the fastest growing business lines at Grail. The candidate will work on data crunching projects and prepare visually appealing dashboards for C-Level Executives.

The role will be of a Manager and the reporting will be to the Director. A Manager is an integral part of the project management cadre at Grail Insights. He/she is responsible for projects, people and client across multiple projects/proposals/client engagements. He/she also assumes responsibilities for internal organization initiatives such as knowledge and talent management.

Responsibilities

Account and Project Management

Able to independently engage with clients, and manage projects and teams, with senior management cover limited to strategic intervention

Manage end-to-end execution of complex projects, including:

  • Analytical planning, leveraging client email/call notes.
  • Work planning: realistic,in view of project requirements and team skill level; sharing proactive updates with internal and client stakeholders; reprioritizing efforts if required.

Strong data management and reporting skills in Excel. Data import and export to excel from flat files and other database server connect, data analysis and summarizing in excel Pivot and designing pivot reports and dashboard using advanced pivot options and slicer connections, creating data model in excel, data manipulation

  • Quality and Productivity: at a deliverable/output, individual and team level.
  • Insights: Crisp yet comprehensive insight decks, keeping in mind the audience/consumers

Support BD efforts via client proposals and RFP

Help manage project margins, via effective and efficient utilization of internal (team members, databases,etc.) and external (vendors, syndicated reports, etc.) resources.

Client Management

Accurately understand the client’s business imperatives and research objectives.

Manage client expectations in terms of depth and breadth of research & analytics, format and granularity of output, and key milestones across the project timeline.

Handle all client communication independently, including:

  • Conversing on project insights/implications and thinking on-the-feet (on client questions, including tricky ones)
  • Questioning/critiquing client hypotheses, brainstorming on potential outcomes, sharing Grail POV
  • Ideating with client via workshop delivery (if applicable)

People Management

Manage multiple work streams, with a span of 5-7 execution resources, across varying levels of project complexity.

Share objective and constructive (written/verbal, periodic/on-the-fly) feedback with team members, with suggestions on improvement areas/next steps.

Provide effective and efficient coaching and mentorship on core and soft skills, for tagged team members as well as assigned professional development advisees.

Other Initiatives

Take responsibility of organization improvement initiatives and activities such as knowledge management.

Design, and conduct, skill-based internal training sessions, as part of the new hire induction program as well as periodic L&D activities.

Help the organization scale-up via active participation in recruitment drives (off/on-campus).

Expertise and experience in managing strategic business research and consulting projects, across industry verticals and/or geographies

Data Visualization Manager

Candidate Profile

  • Undergraduate degree / MBA / Post-Graduation from a reputed Academic Institute
  •  Should possess strong skills in Advanced excel, macros VBA, SQL queries, strong dash-boarding skills using Tableau and PowerBI. Experience in managing large data streams and preparing them for multiple analysis is a must.
  •  5+ years of experience in delivering Strategic Insights engagements in the CPG domain Knowledge of e- Commerce would be an added advantages
  • Solid experience of leading project-based engagements and delivering findings to senior client stakeholders
  • Proficiency in leveraging more than one methodology for data collection is a must – Desk Research, QuantitativePrimary Research, and Qualitative Primary Research
  • Track record of authoring point of view articles, participation in conferences will be an added advantage.
  • Hands-on approach and work as an Individual Contributor as and when required
